Rob and Matt took ownership of the Big Land Lodge five years ago and have worked hard to build a world class fishing lodge in Southern Labrador, on the Mighty Pinware River. Their mandate is to provide the experience of a lifetime for their guests.

Matt Rogers (Co-owner)
Keith Chaulk (Guide)
Keith grew up on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland with world class Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout rivers in his back yard. Fly fishing has been his passion since he was a boy. Keith is one of those guides, like so many others with a lifetime of experience, who truly loves sharing his passion with others. In his own words: "I fish, I can't help it, it's what I do."
Guillame Leduc-Boisvert (Guide)
Guillaume has fished the Pinware River for many years so he can put you right on that Trophy Fish. He is the most positive guide you will ever meet and full of energy. He is definitely a guest favorite.
Amanda Pike (Guide)
Amanda is one of our new guides for the 2025 Season. Amanda has been fishing the Pinware River for several years and is excited about taking clients to her favorite river. Her infectious smile and excitement for the sport is sure to make for great days on the river.
Carol Anne Crane (Guide)
Carol Anne is excited this summer to be able to combine her duties at the lodge along with taking clients to the river. We are very excited and look forward to adding Carol Anne to our fabulous guiding team.
Kitchen Staff
Our kitchen staff is second to non in preparing home cooked and/or gourmet cuisine. Their intention to detail in food preparation and service has been five star every season. Enjoy locally harvested dishes such as Lobster or Halibut. While other evenings sit to a Prime Rib or Turkey Dinner.
Walter Bolger (Guide)
Walter has fished and guided on the Pinware River for over 40 years. His knowledge of the river and his revered rowing skills make him a legend on the river.
Big Land Lodge is very lucky to have Walter guiding our clients.
Corey Normore (Guide)
Corey has been fishing the rivers of Southern Labrador since his early childhood. He has brought that knowledge of the rivers as a guide with the Big Land Lodge for the last four summers. Always armed with a smile and true Newfoundland charm, Corey will make your day on the river an absolute pleasure.
Jack O'Neill(Guide)
You may never find a person who loves the outdoors and fishing more than Jack. He brings this enthusiasm and love for the fly fishing every time he heads to the river with his Sports. Jack has been guiding with Big Land Lodge for the last five seasons.
Todd Crane (Guide)
Todd has been guiding with the Big Land Lodge for the last three years. His attention to his clients is unmatched. Todd prides himself on making sure every person has a fabulous day on the river while in his care.
Brian Woolfrey(Guide)
Brian has been an avid Atlantic Salmon angler since he was a young boy and now brings this love of Fly Fishing to his Guiding for Big Land Lodge. This will be Brian’s third season returning to the Pinware River to guide for us.
Glen Hobbs (Guide)
Big Land Lodge is extremely lucky to have Glen as one of our guides. Glen is an avid angler and has guided on the Pinware and in Western Newfoundland for many years. His own 30 years of fishing the Pinware has proved invaluable when taking his clients on the river.
